Dr. David Jay Nathan attended Temple University School of Medicine and graduated in 1997. He went on to the University of Vermont to complete an internship in General Surgery and then a residency in Neurological Surgery. From Vermont he traveled to Stanford University to complete a fellowship in Complex Spinal Neurosurgery. As part of his fellowship appointment, he functioned as a clinical instructor where he was responsible for teaching neurosurgery residents the techniques of routine spine surgery. He was awarded the Stanford School of Medicine Teaching Award for his work with the neurosurgery residents.
His recreational interests were an important influence in his decision to start his professional career in Utah. He is an avid snowboarder who has been enjoying the sport for over 10 years. He also enjoys mountain biking, climbing and enjoying the outdoors with his German shepherd.
